Sonar 'only way' to locate tuna-says Spanish experts
Article Abstract:
Furuno has introduced a sonar, FSV-24 that can spot tuna at 5000 metres and can be used to track a shoal until the circle of the purse seine is closed, as for long range scanning a low frequency sonar is essential. French, American and Spanish tuna fleets are all using sonars as they help in building data on tuna fishing that helps developing equipments.
