Spain's BBVA to raise its stakes in 2 Citic units

Spanish financial services entity Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria plans to raise its stake in two units of CITIC, or the China International Trust and Investment Corp. The stake in China Citic Bank Corp. would be increased to more than 10%, and the stake in Hong Kong Citic International Financial Holdings Ltd. would be raised to more than 25%.

Vietnam insurer sells HSBC 10% stake for $254 million

Vietnam Insurance Corp., also known as Bao Viet, is selling a 10% stake for $254 mil to UK financial services firm HSBC Holdings PLC. The agreement constitutes the first major privatization of one of Vietnam's state-owned enterprises, and is also the nation's largest such transaction.
