Specifier's choice: postgraduate education centre, Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham
Article Abstract:
There were a number of challenges associated with extensively reworking an early 1970s two-storey sports building in order to produce a new postgraduate education centre at Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, England, according to project architect Francis Carnell. The ceiling height of the ground floor was quite low, for example, and this made it necessary to introduce light into the centre of the building. However, internal partitions were retained wherever possible.
