Canadian motion picture distributors and theater chain owners allot a huge percentage of their advertising budgets in newspapers. Newspapers offer the reach and frequency needed to promote the movie which is only on the market for a few weeks. Most film distributors advertise in all the major dailies across Canada usually on a weekly basis while theater chains advertise on a regular basis to promote film listings and schedules.
