Squid, remorse and unpop music
Article Abstract:
Relations between Japan and South Korea are improving with a visit by South orean president, Kim Dae Jung, to Japan, and an apology from Japan for colonial rule over South Korea to 1945. There are contentious issues such as compensation payments to South Koreans relating to the 1939-1945 war, and a revised fisheries agreement. There is also concern over North Korea in Japan, following the firing of a missile which traveled over Japan in Aug 1998. South Korea is seeking to improve relations with North Korea.
