Standing the test of time
Article Abstract:
Sam Price and Robert Myers started their structural engineering practice, Price & Myers in 1978, with a view offering clients simple and uncomplicated designs. They work well with a variety of architects who plan the buildings whilst the engineers work out how to achieve the end result. The practice has expanded its business to encompass an office in Nottingham, England, with a main office in London. The practice specializes in historical buildings but they also used their skills to develop modern minimalist style buildings. Price & Myers is run by six partners and has 50 employees.

The Modern house revisited
Article Abstract:
The Modern Movement was born in the 1930s in the UK. Pioneers include Berthold Lubetkin, Connell, Ward and Lucas and the MARS group. Modern architecture was seen as progressive, working towards the reconstruction of society. The most Modern building of the 1930s was not the block of flats, but the house, built for individuals, not the mass market. The Modern house was a product of its age and is part of architectural history.
