Stock raises production capacity
Article Abstract:
Stock (Plzen, Czech Republic), spirits producer, increased its market spirits production capacity by about 100,000 lt per month at a cost of CEK 35 mil at the beginning of 2001. This was a reaction to a growth in demand for mainly rum and vodka. The consumption of the drinks from Stock's production was 5.8 mil lt in 2000, which corresponds to a 23% share on the market. Stock sold a total of 25.3 mil lt of spirits in 2000.

Budejovicky Budvar extends production
Article Abstract:
Budejovicky Budvar (BB) (Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic), brewing firm, plans to double its production capacity to 2.7 mil hl of beer per year by 2005. The volume of the firm's production should increase to 1.8 mil hl of beer in 2002. BB produced 681,000 hl of beer for 1H 2000. About 225,000 hl of the quantity were exported.
