Two-stage open shop scheduling with a bottleneck machine
Article Abstract:
Research is presented concerning the development of a heuristic algorithm which can be applied to a scheduling problem wherein each job's processing route comprises a maximum of two operations. Worst-case performance is discussed.

Storage controlled pile-up systems, theoretical foundations
Article Abstract:
A study on the theoretical foundations for controlling pile-up systems and an analysis of its computational complexity is presented. It was found that the general pile-up problem is NP-complete. The most viable alternative storage structure is using a number of buffer conveyors rather than that of a cylic storage conveyor.
