The ICA, London, England, is exhibiting new British design ideas in furniture, fashion and graphics until Mat 23, 1999. The exhibition claims to contrast with the label-dominated, trendy design currently being publicized and shows that the idea of beauty can encompass flexibility, disposability and consumability. However, too much of the display focuses on pre-existing objects.

EXHIBITION REVIEW: The exhibition '6,000 Miles' is to be held at the Lighthouse at Glasgow until 7 June 2005. It is constructed around five invited practices' examinations of different themes and their relation to the coast such as energy and environment, leisure and consumption, production and transportation, weather and time and work and habitation.
