Scapeche's acquisition of Mariette le Roch II and the proposed acquisition of two more fishing vessels reflect the confidence of France in future fishing. The supermarket group Intermache owns Scapeche. The history of the supermarket in the fishing industry is traced and its management aspects such as fishing quotas, crew management, fishing vessels acquisition etc., are discussed.
