China, trading partners irked by slow WTO talks
Article Abstract:
Chinese negotiators are frustrated by the lack of development on China's bid to become a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO). China remains at odds with its trading partners over the conditions necessary for the former's entry in WTO. China and a working group of WTO members are slated to meet as early as Oct. 1996, to negotiate an agreement acceptable to all parties. Chinese delegates are also scheduled to talk with their US counterparts to discuss market-opening concessions.
