INDICA HITS A VENDOR BUMP, ALLEGES ARM-TWISTING
Article Abstract:
Telco is having delivery problems on certain models of its Indica car allegedly due to pressure put on a vendor by the competition. The delay is being attributed to the non-availability of air conditioner kits. It is claimed that pressure is being put by the competition on Subros Ltd, which supplies the AC kits for the DLE version of the Indica. Subros Ltd is also the AC kit supplier to Maruti Udyog Ltd. Telco currently produces 60-80 Indica cars per month and plans to increase production to 150-200 cars by April 1999. (khr)
