Tadiran Electronic Systems expands intelligence products

Article Abstract:

Tadiran Electronic Systems has introduced the TWR 1000 wideband receiving system and the TDF 1200 strategic wideband direction-finding (DF) system for communications intelligence (COMINT). The two new products are being offered for operation in the VHF/UHF band at 20MHz to 1GHz frequencies, with an option for extension to 3GHz. The TWR 1000, supplies other subsystems for monitoring, analysis, classification, recording, and/or jamming of communications signals with the required initial data. The TDW 1000, which promises a capability to handle all modern communications signals, such as burst transmission and frequency hopping, can also be modified to form part of the TDF 1200.

Strike Force requirements to spawn new equipment proposals

Article Abstract:

The assault gun industry is expected to benefit from the plan of the US Army to establish a Strike Force. The Army said that the new group is envisioned to have the capability to be deployed as a package to its areas of responsibility within 96 hours, and be self-sustaining for up to 30 days. A major deficiency to be addressed for the group is the lack of an assault gun due to the cancellation of the United Defense XM8 Armored Gun System program.
