The city: centre of economic reflexivity
Article Abstract:
It is argued that every one of the four main theories developed to understand modern urbanization - the global city, the world city, the informational city and the post-fordist city theories - has significant theoretical and empirical loopholes. The movements that can be characterized as reflexive are seen on the classifications of activity assigned to cities, including parts of these activities and other sectors. The study utilizes advanced categories of analysis and measurement of modern urbanization.

Shopping motives: a constructionist perspective
Article Abstract:
A study on the shopping behavior of people is discussed. The study is based on a previous study done by Edward Tauber in 1972. The present study is based on constructionist assumptions, rather than the positivistic assumptions of Tauber's study. Results of the study show that people attribute logical reasons behind their shopping trips. Furthermore, the notion that people have the same behavior when shopping is disproved. It is also shown that people contextualize their shopping motives.
