Handover questions remain for journalists
Article Abstract:
Journalism in Hong Kong is faced with the problems of corruption and censorship despite of the confidence of many on the political and economic climate in the Special Administrative Region(SAR). Corruption is prevalent in mainland China and journalists feel that this could be carried over to Hong Kong and mar its economic growth. One of the main problems is the possibility of enforcing Article 23 of the Basic Law. This law states that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region can pass laws to prevent any act of treason and sedition against the Central Government.

Hong Kong's status gets masked amid sovereignity
Article Abstract:
Hong Kong's Court of Appeal acknowledged the validity of the territory's new provisional legislature as suggested by the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress. However, the court did not take into account the territory's status as a Special Administrative Region, which clearly gives Hong Kong privileges that are not offered to other Chinese municipalities. The Court of Appeal's decision puts the Chinese government one step closer to achieving full control over Hong Kong.
