The German market for baby care

The market for baby care products in Germany was studied, covering the sectors of skin care and toiletries. Under skin care, lotions, sun care, wipes and talcum are included while toiletries include bath products and hair care. The period covered by the study were the years 1994-1998, with forecasts to the year 2003. Among the main findings were the increased demand for premium quality products that emphasized convenience and ease of use. Baby care products are predicted to increase by 25.6% for the years 1998-2003, especially in sun-care products and wipes.

Market forecasts of the industry for the period from 1996 to 2001, were also derived from the conclusions of the market analysis. Exclude in the analysis are male specific hair grooming products, baby hair care products, and other closely related categories such as body shampoos. The analysis focuses on three sectors namely, styling, colorants and washing hair care products.
