The Spanish market for prepared soups
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to examine the retail market for industrially prepared soups in Spain, from 1993 to 1997. Results showed that the market for prepared soups was stationary and was significantly influenced by general levels of food consumption. However, volume sales of prepared foods increased by 4% in 1997, reaching 14,095 tons. Findings also suggested that the demand for prepared soups will rise in 2000. Spanish consumers are steadily becoming accustomed to the concept of pre-prepared foods.
