A market research study was conducted on vitamins and dietary supplements in Spain. The market is divided into five categories: calcium supplements, mineral supplements, fish oils, tonics and nutritive drinks, and other supplements. Some of the major findings are: that Spanish consumers are more likely to purchase over-the-counter (OTC) vitamins and dietary supplements against other OTC drugs, that the market was worth 19.851 billion pesetas in 1998, and that the biggest sector is dietary supplements.
