They'll know how you vote
Article Abstract:
Internet political campaigns have become fashionable, but there is concern that there could be a threat to voters' privacy. Voter-registration records are used by Aristotle Publishing and voting records can include a wide range of information. The increased importance of the internet could lead to changes in public access to such records. There is a need for more information on how personal data is handled by companies like Aristotle, to assess the extent to which privacy could be invaded.

The battle for the White House
Article Abstract:
The Internet has become more important in the US presidential election campaign for 2000 than in the previous campaign. Steve Forbes began his official campaign on the Internet, which tends to attract journalists so provides a free press. The Internet is also a way of mobilizing supporters who are unable to travel to a campaign headquarters. There are a number of official sites for the main candidates, and there are also spoof sites which criticize the candidates.
