Cathay blues
Article Abstract:
Travel guides to China have not yet recovered from Tiananmen Square and Jun 1989; books scheduled to come out afterwards were quickly postponed, so the current crop boasts research from 1987 and 1988. In any event, travelers should buy books before going to China, where those that are for sale have been censored. Tourists in China should read at least a history of the country, a modern journalist's report and a book on Chinese tourist culture.
