The changing housing role of mixed-used development in Seoul
Article Abstract:
Mixed-use development is becoming an increasingly significant feature in the wider approach to housing in Seoul, South Korea. There has been a period of excessive regulation of mixed-used development, but this is now coming to an end. It is likely that recent moves designed to deregulate the planning system and allow more extensive promotion of mixed-used development will have significant repercussions for the housing role played by the combination of commercial and residential land use. However, it is important to be aware that there are limits to mixed-used development.
