The US impeachment trial of President Bill Clinton continues in Jan 1999, and meanwhile, a number of bills are promised. There are doubts that legislation can continue due to the trial. Tthe Democrats argue that the trial should not be prolonged if a majority clearly cannot be found to convict Clinton, but the Republican senators are unlikely to allow the trial to be ended after only two weeks.
