The cybergrocers
Article Abstract:
Grocery Gateway, PeachTree Network and Sobeys Quebec are some of the retailers selling groceries online. Called 'cybergrocers,' these retailers allow consumers to order food including fresh meat and farm produce, through their Web sites. Consumers are then charged a nominal fee of C$3 to C$6 per order. Their annual combined sales of C$2.5 million is small compared to the C$53.6 billion earned by traditional grocers but it is growing by 200 to 450% annually.
