The earth moves: the Cambrian explosion
Article Abstract:
Researcher Joseph Kirschvink theorizes that the explosion of myriad life forms during the Cambrian was caused by a shift of the magnetic poles to the equator. Kirschvink and his associates believe that the whole outer layer of the Earth moved and not just the continents.

Kalmykia, a Russian Republic bordering the Caspian Sea, is an unusual place primarily due to the influence of Kalmyks, who emigrated from China in 1608. This minority has begun reasserting traditions that are foreign to Russia such as building Buddhist temples.
