The emergence of path-dependent behaviors in cooperative contexts
Article Abstract:
An analysis of human behavior in the context of path dependence on organizational learning reveals that there is a persistent differentiation in player behavior where some players exhibit extremely routinized behavior. The study is based on the 'Target of the Two' game developed by M. Cohen and P. Bacdayan. It reveals the existence of a group of players that adopt and stick to a fixed set of rules even if these rules do not apply to certain circumstances.
