Aftershocks rumble
Article Abstract:
South Korea appears to have coped relatively well with the immediate after-effects of the economic crisis in Asia. However, it is likely that the crisis will have significant long-term repercussions. South Korean companies have debts that are on average four times greater than their equity, and are coming under strong pressure as interest rates rise. Furthermore, the recession is beginning to have a negative impact on corporate cash flow. The only real way to boost the country's economy will be through exports.

Article Abstract:
The message of the film 'The Gingko Bed' is that true love lasts forever, according to South Korean film director Jacky Kang. The film has been extremely successful in South Korea, and is now set to be released in Japan, the Philippines, Taiwan, China and Singapore. Kang's interest in film-making grew naturally out of an interest in photography, while screenwriting, the area in which he first established his reputation, grew out of his love for writing poetry.
