Two years after Carl Icahn took over TWA in 1985, the airline had record profits. Now it is struggling to emerge out of bankruptcy. Icahn wants out and the employees are anxious to see him go. They are proposing to cut 15% of their wages in exchange for a 45% stake in the airline.

Offers nobody can refuse: America's airlines
Article Abstract:
US airlines are having a fare war in which ticket prices are so low they may not even cover the airlines's costs. This is expected to cause orders for aircraft to be cancelled, and the collapse of firms already in Chapter 11.

Article Abstract:
Minnesota offers huge subsidies to keep Northwest Airlines' hub centers in Minneapolis-St. Paul. The state offered $838M in loans and other aid to keep current jobs and to add a promised 2,000 new jobs.
