Your own worst enemy
Article Abstract:
Companies face new challenges to computer security. Company systems are increasingly open to external attack as their systems become more open for browsing and purchasing. Outsiders can wreak havoc in a company through transmission of a virus or by bombarding a computer system with demands. Virus checkers are reasonably effective but they do not offer total security. Experts suggest that companies thoroughly analyse their computer security, paying particular attention to the protection of key systems through examining issues including integrity and authentication.

The enemy within
Article Abstract:
UK companies should make protecting their computer systems against hackers one of their top priorities. Particular attention must be given to the security risks posed by employees abusing company computers and by viruses circulated on the network. It is important to draw up a computer security policy, thus ensuring that users are aware of the steps they should take to prevent hacking. If the computer network is connected to the internet, then a firewall is required to prevent hackers dialling in.
