The UFJ Holdings and Mitsubishi Tokyo Financial Group propose to merge to create more than the world's biggest bank. The impact of this merger on the whole M&A (mergers and acquisitions) culture of Japan and the need for improving upon the informal affairs of Japanese acquisitions are discussed.
