Venice, Italy's historic Fenice theater burned to the ground on Jan 29, 1996, and city officials are still trying to organize a rebuilding effort. There are several theories about the origins of the fire, and some believe the Mafia set it. The opera is currently performing in a tent.

The soul revived: Wigmore Hall
Article Abstract:
London's Wigmore Hall was originally built in 1901 and recently underwent refurbishing, much to the concern of fans who loved the hall the way it was. The good news is that it still retains the same charm and acoustics with more modern qualities.

The UK's last surviving Victorian music halls are the focus of growing attention from performers and conservationists. Music halls which had fallen into disrepair are now being restored and used again for music and theatre.
