The inventory debate: Broadcasters are at odds over whether the CRTC should allow Canadian ads to be dropped into U.S. specialty channels
Article Abstract:
Toronto based 49th MediaEs proposed to screen Canadian ads on five U.S. Specialty channels has been turned down by the CRTC, deeming it as an incomplete application. While the proposal has elicited a very positive response from the Association of Canadian Advertisers, the Canadian Association of Broadcasters is pleased to see the proposal rejected, as the implementation of the same would undercut the financial base of the Canadian broadcast system.
