The most bathetic reshuffle in history
Article Abstract:
The United Kingdom government was expected to make major changes in a cabinet reshuffle in Jul 1999, and they were rumored to be linked to differences of opinion between prime minister, Tony Blair, and John Prescott, the deputy prime minister. The newspapers reserved large amounts of space to deal with the reshuffle, and had articles prepared on why certain politicians had been removed from the cabinet. In the event there were few changes, and some newspapers argued that changes had been planned but Blair had lost his nerve.
