The new breed
Article Abstract:
Chinese investors continued to behave like speculators although some are studying the markets more and investing long-term. This new breed of fund manager may help stock markets in China to become more stable. Li Hongbo manages a hard currency fund for Shenyin-Wanguo Securities, a Chinese securities firm. He was drawn to the stock market after seeing some of the big money being made by former classmates at Beijing University on China's stockmarkets. He relies increasingly on company research rather than focusing solely on short-term gains.

A biter pill to swallow
Article Abstract:
It is difficult for pharmaceutical companies to do business in China, particularly now that local government can decide how much firms charge for their pharmaceuticals. The measure is one of several aimed at reducing China's health care bill. Many drug companies are not reaching sales and profit targets and their manufacturing operations are mostly running below production capacity. It is vital for drug companies to gain a place on the lists of drugs eligible for reimbursement, but the lists are limited to a certain number each year.
