The plot thickens
Article Abstract:
Research to discover new planets round stars other than the sun includes the discovery of a new planetary system round Upsilon Andromedae. Other planetary systems may be discovered, and there are already theories as to where some of these may be. The Upsilon Andromedae discovery does not fit in with existing theories of how planets have been formed. Planets as large as those that have been discovered are nearer to their star than theories predict, and they may have migrated, though they have stable orbits so it is unclear how this could have occurred.
