The potential for buyouts in the Asia Pacific region
Article Abstract:
The Asia Pacific region has seen increasing expansion in business yet few management buyouts are occurring, even though some $30 billion was spent on private equity investment, during 1995. Buyouts have not become a feature of the Asian market because many of the large companies are family owned and they prefer to retain all of their assets. It is predicted buyouts could become more popular but finding good quality local management, for buyouts, may become a problem. Much of the private equity has been invested in new companies or funding expansion plans.

Fund raising in the Yorkshire region
Article Abstract:
The Yorkshire region saw 38 management buy-outs and 17 management buy-ins in 1994, with total deal values of 247 million pounds sterling and 123 million pounds sterling respectively. Some very successful new issues have joined the market recently, but there is still a lack of demand from institutional investors for new issues. However, there are more funds being established specifically to invest in Alternative Investment Market (AIM) shares.
