The power of negative thinking
Article Abstract:
Depression has been found to be linked to heart disease in a study of diabetics by University of Pittsburgh's Trevor Orchard. Depression also makes people more vulnerable to other conditions such as pneumonia, and this could be due to a weaker immune system. Lifestyles of depressed people may also involve more caffeine and cigarette consumption, as well as less exercise, though the last appears to be particularly important, according to Carnegie Mellon University's Gregory Miller. More exercise could help people with depression to boost their immune systems.
