Article Abstract:
Bounty hunters bring 80% of defendants jumping bail back to justice. They usually work for bail boindsmen and are paid 10% of the bail sum if they succeed in returning the defendant before a deadline. Bounty hunters are more successful than traditional law enforcement agents, and have greater power than the police, as well as less responsibility. They tend not to be regulated, and there is a debate as to whether regulations should be tightened, with licenses imposed.
