Privatization in Africa
Article Abstract:
Almost all African governments are heavily involved in their respective domestic economies. However, the traditionally poor performance of such state-owned enterprises has had a detrimental effect on African economies as a whole. These nations are turning to privatization as a means towards economic adjustment and for accumulating investment capital. The lessons from the experiences of Togo, Senegal and Nigeria are presented.
