Woo developed a lucrative toy industry based on Asian imports, in a state that lacked cheap toys. Situated in a rundown section of Los Angeles, about 500 tiny toy firms are clustered, networking with each other to lower costs. Woo's many activities include hiring toy designers to improve the products.
