The public school choice and local control policies in effect in East Harlem, New York, have proven to be remarkably effective. Reading test scores show that East Harlem has risen from the worst district in NYC into the top fourth. The accountability introduced by choice has encouraged the growth of magnet schools.

The ascent of Mount Poussin
Article Abstract:
An exhibit of Poussin's paintings at the Louvre is now at the Royal Academy in London, England. Poussin is known as a painter who paints from his head, and his works were much admired by other masters because of their visual appearance and control. Human desire was a central theme to his paintings.
