The realisation of a key investment project for a refinery in Kralupy starts
Article Abstract:
Ceska rafinerska (CER) (Litvinov, Czech Republic), refinery firm, should commission a fluid catalytic cracking unit in 2001. The firm will install the unit at a cost of more than 8 bil Kc at its refinery in Kralupy-nad-Vltavou, the Czech Republic. The installation was started in June 1999. The new unit with a capacity of 3,800 t of processed oil per day will extend the firm's production of light products, car petrol and Diesel oil. CER will be able to export 20% of its production after is commissions the unit compared to 15% currently. The firm will cover the investment from its own sources and a five-year syndicated credit of 200 mil USD at the most. The unit will utilise technology from Universal Oil Products (UOP) (US). The technology's supplier will be the international engineering company Fluor Daniel.

The consortium MobilCzech is one of the bidders for a licence to operate a third mobile telephone network in the Czech Republic

MobilCzech (Czech Republic), telecommunication consortium, has applied for a licence to operate a third mobile telephone network in the Czech Republic. The consortium has a 40% stake held by Telekom Austria (Austria), a 40% stake by Telecom Italia Mobile (Italy), a 14% stake by Echoton (Ostrava, Czech Republic) and a 6% stake by Infinity (Pardubice, Czech Republic). The consortium is aiming to win more than 1 mil clients during the next 10 years. It plans to invest 28 bil Kc, 800 mil USD. The consortium wants to directly employ 2,300 persons and expects that the realisation of the project will ensure another 20,000 jobs in connected sectors.

GPT: a new Czech central office
Article Abstract:
SPT Telecom (Prague, Czech Republic), telecommunication company, will modernise its telecommunication infrastructure in 1998. The firm will replace its old analogous equipment with a new network with optical cables. The telecommunication equipment manufacturer GPT (UK) will participate in the modernisation with the supplies of the technology SDH worth 50 mil GBP.
