Italians disagree over the legalization of prostitution despite the increased number of women engaged in the practice from when it was legal. Some want to clean up the streets, while others want it to remain illegal. Hungary is writing a law to legalize prostitution to raise revenues.

Some new types of car headlighting may appeared in Europe. After more than 60 year of use, yellow lights will no longer be required in France. Germany's BMW is testing both UV lamps and electric discharge lamps. Sweden' s Volvo is also experimenting with UV light.

The UK plans to crack down on street prostitution by giving the police new powers to arrest men looking for prostitutes. However, a more tolerant approach in Edinburgh, including licensing of saunas, appears successful.
