The relative performance of bivariate causality tests in small samples
Article Abstract:
Bivariate causality test can be utilized for the identification of relevant and irrelevant predictor variables on complex models relating to applied economics. Analysis of bivariate causality tests such as Granger test, modified Sims test and Haugh-Pierce test indicated the efficiency of the testing methods in categorizing causality from noncausality. Furthermore, the combination of high power and high alpha from Granger-Wald test was effective for identification of relevant and irrelevant predictor variables.

Scaling units via the canonical correlation analysis in the DEA context
Article Abstract:
A model was developed to improve the ranking of units in a Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) context. The model uses canonical correlation analysis (CCA) to provide an 'objective' scaling for all units in consideration, with a different vector of weights assigned to each unit. The CCA/DEA approach relieves the ranking from the decision maker's subjective evaluation. The model does this by having the DEA provide the efficient units while allowing the CCA to provide a full ranking of units.
