The renminbi zone
Article Abstract:
ChinaEs currency renminbi is playing an influential role in Asian economies especially in countries bordering China such as Laos, Burma, Thailand, Cambodia, Hong Kong and Vietnam etc. due to China es increasing annual growth rates that stands at an average of 8%, burgeoning foreign exchange reserves that presently stands at $300 billion and its deepening economic ties with its South Asian partners. The possible emergence of renminbi as one of the major global currencies like dollar, yen and euro has been discussed.

The vote of confidence in Thailand's prime minister Chavalit Yonchaiyudh is bad news for the economic crisis which the country faces. Popular support for Chavalit has eroded and Thai society is split by divisions that will prevent essential reforms. An opinion poll conducted by the acting dean of Bangkok University's graduate school shows that the public has lost faith in politicians. Thailand's crisis needs rapid responses, including new foreign-ownership rules and flotation of the baht.
