Takashi Hirayama, vice-president of Japanese supermarket chain Daiei, faces a major challenge in trying to turn around the ailing firm, which has debts of Y2.6 tril. Hirayama acknowledges that Daiei may be one of the three worst retailers in the world, but says he loves a challenge.
