The social psychology of project management conflict

Article Abstract:

A role theory analysis of project management conflict is presented. Inter- and intrasender, interrole and person-role conflicts are studied against the four organization sources, which include division of authority, internal politics, technical complexity and project duration. A study of organizations based on role theory allows the prediction of role conflicts that may occur. Consequently, preventive measures on the managerial level may be taken against these role conflicts.

On the optimal management of project risk

Article Abstract:

A concept of project risk was developed to promote optimal project risk management. The concept takes into account the randomness of the cost and the duration of every project activity. It emphasizes the use of float factor concept, which is used as a major decision variable, to effectively synthesize large number of the decision variables that characterize every schedule for the studied project.

New computational results for the discrete time/cost tradeoff problem with time-switch constraint

Article Abstract:

A new method of branch-and-bound algorithm for discrete time/cost tradeoff problem with time-switch constraint is proposed. Time-switch constraint deals with shift work by specifying starting time and inactive times on project activities. Computational study evaluating the algorithm is also presented.
