The structure of foreign investments in the Czech Republic, according to sectors
Article Abstract:
Czech Republic: The total direct investments in the Czech economy were 274.429 bil Kc as of 30 September 1998. About 15.9% of the sum went to the transport and communication sector, 11.3% to the financial and insurance sector, 11.3% to the sector of trade, services and activities in the field realty, 10.8% to the transport equipment sector, 7.1% to the food products sector, 6.7% to the chemical sector and 35.4% to other sectors. The total direct foreign investments in the Czech Republic were 40.190 bil Kc for January-September 1998. About 32.2% of the sum went to the financial and insurance sector, 24.9% to the sector of trade, services and activities in the field of realty, 8.7% to the sector of engineering and metal structure production, 8.2% to the food products sector, 4.9% to the textile industry, 4.3% to the electrotechnical sector and 16.8% to other sectors.

Czech Republic: The total direct foreign investments in the Czech economy were 274.429 bil Kc as of 30 September 1998. About 26.4% of the sum was invested by Germany, 13.9% by the Netherlands, 13.6% by the US, 9.4% by Switzerland, 7.9% by the UK, 7.2% by Austria and 21.6% by other states. During January-September 1998, the total direct foreign investments in the Czech Republic amounted to 40.190 bil Kc. About 25.8% of the sum was invested by the UK, 16.1% by the US, 15.5% by Germany, 14.5% by the Netherlands, 6.9% by Austria, 5.6% by Cyprus and 15.6% by other states.

Czech Republic: According to preliminary estimates, total direct foreign investments in the Czech economy were 1.301 bil USD in 1997. About 28% of the sum was invested by Germany, 14% by the Netherlands, 13% by the US, 11% by Switzerland, 8% by France, 7% by Austria, 3% by the UK, 1% by Italy and 15% by other states. Total direct foreign investments in the Czech Republic were 1.428 bil USD in 1996 compared to 2.559 bil USD in 1995, 862 mil USD in 1994, 568 mil USD in 1993, 1.003 bil USD in 1992 and 99 mil USD per year on average in 1986-1991.
