Ecole de Nancy is a school of decorative arts based in Nancy, France, which was important a hundred years ago. The town is celebrating its heritage with a number of events with shows, tours and exhibitions. The art work is used on a range of objects including chairs, jewelry, lamps, and even rifles. The style is a kind of art nouveau, and materials used include wood and glass. There are also decorative ceramics. Training programs were set up in Nancy that still survive.

Article Abstract:
Hamamatsu Photonics develops new biotechnology optics products by allowing eminent researchers such as Hiroyasu Itoh to do basic biological research with optical equipment technology in mind. Itoh's framing streak photonic camera was one result of this unique strategy.
