United Church, Winchester
Article Abstract:
Architect, Plincke Leaman and Browning designed the refurbishment of the United Church in Winchester, England. The design included the opening of an undercroft and construction of the main worship area on a mezzanine level. The circular upper space is accessed by a curving ramp. The lower rooms are used for meetings, community activities and worship. The unusual use of space has resulted in a building that retains its Victorian feel while catering for the needs of the modern congregation.
