Thinking seriously about the long, long, long-term future of Dome
Article Abstract:
The inaccessible nature of the Millennium Dome will hinder its ability to attract the estimated 12 million visitors during its working life of one year. The Dome was built specifically for the year 2000 celebrations although little has been decided about what to do with the site after 2000. The Dome is almost totally surrounded by water, making it a difficult and cold location.

Issues regarding the manner in which design concepts may be utilized to disguise underlying deficiencies in public works and services are discussed. Particular reference is made to attempts to represent the flawed Millenium footbridge in London in a positive light.
